Mapping Hydrothermal Alteration at the Fentale-Dofan Magmatic Segment of the Main Ethiopian Rift

چکیده

The Main Ethiopian Rift (MER) is characterized by extensional tectonics and volcanism, associated with active hydrothermal systems, alteration fumarolic deposits. spatial distribution of these products their link faults rock types provides important clues to what controls fluid flow in the subsurface. However, little known about this East African Rift. We address issue a multidisciplinary approach Fentale-Dofan magmatic segment MER, an area intense volcanic tectonic activity geothermal prospect. Primarily we conduct mapping deposits, lithologies using surface feature classification technique multispectral satellite images. Then interpret map new database manifestations such as hot-springs fumaroles. find that deposits are mainly focused near Fentale Dofan Volcanic Complex (DVC). At DVC on rhyolites western side volcano, NNE striking, rift parallel faults. volcano ignimbrite show circular pattern around edifice, but also places follow striking Fentale, more complex association edge suggests formation contacts may localize places. both volcanoes between either ignimbrites likely due them being relatively easily altered (in comparison basalt), brittle nature allows for fracturing through which localized can occur (as opposed sediments). general stronger structural influence at respect Fentale. presence manifestations, along other lines evidence locus subsurface dike intrusion centres, suggest discrete magma reservoirs beneath heat source circulation. Our study demonstrates geology, including be successfully mapped automated remote sensing based classification.

Application of Spectral Analysis in Mapping Hydrothermal Alteration of the Northwestern Part of the Kerman Cenozoic Magmatic Arc, Iran

The northwestern part of the Kerman Cenozoic magmatic arc (KCMA) contains many areas with porphyry copper mineralization. In this research, we used the advanced space-borne thermal emission and reflection radiometer (ASTER) and Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) images of this region to map the distribution of hydrothermally altered rocks, based on their mineral assemblages. The spectral meas...

contribution of setting to the study of characters and the main idea in e. brontes: wuthering heights and t. hardys: return of the native.

this thesis aims to adduce an unmitigated and comprehensive explication concerning the relationship of three significant elements of fiction: setting, chracter and theme. my research is basically placed on two outstanding novels of the 19th century: emily brontes wuthering heights and thomas hardys return of the native. my endeavour lies in studying the correlation among the three above-mention...

this study was an attempt to investigate and compare the effect of lexical inferencing and concept mapping on developing vocabulary retention of iranian language learners. sixty homogeneous students from different intact classes who were being taught as intermediate learners in sokhan english institute participated in this study. they were in different classes. a teacher made test as a pre-test...

Characterization of Water Level Variability of the Main Ethiopian Rift Valley Lakes

In this paper, the water level fluctuations of eight Ethiopian Rift Valley lakes were analyzed for their hydrological stability in terms of water level dynamics and their controlling factors. Long-term water balances and morphological nature of the lakes were used as bases for the analyses. Pettit’s homogeneity test and Mann–Kendall trend analysis were applied to test temporal variations of the...
